Sarah Stewart stage manager

Biography

Sarah Jane Caitlin Stewart [AKA Caitlin Stewart for Equity UK purposes] graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Stage Management (Cum Laude) from the prestigious College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati. She held a Graduate Assistantship for 3 years at CCM, that included working in the Opera Department Office and being a stage Management Teaching Assistant.

Sarah accepted a contract for the 2016 - 2017 season with Virginia Opera in Norfolk, VA as an Assistant Stage Manager. She is currently living & working in London, at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.

She graduated from Greensboro College in 2012, a private liberal arts school in North Carolina. She holds a BA in Theatre (Cum Laude) with a concentration in Stage Directing / Management. 

After being offered a theatre scholarship at Greensboro College in Greensboro, North Carolina, Sarah built her resume steadily working on main stage plays and musicals such as Romeo and Juliet, South Pacific, and Passing Strange, as well as smaller productions in their intimate black box theatre such as Eurydice, Elvis People, Almost, Maine, Carve, and [title of show]. Although her focus has been stage management, she has had opportunities to work as a spotlight operator, and manage publicity and front of house for several other productions.  In addition to her collegiate work, she has also interned at community theatres in the Charlotte area such as Davidson Community Players and the Charlotte Shakespeare Festival, as well as worked as a Production Assistant for the second season of The X-Factor in Greensboro.

Sarah was born in Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa and relocated with her family to the United States at age 11. She attended Charlotte Country Day School, Jay M Robinson Middle School and graduated high school at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, NC in 2009. She was involved in theatre from an early age, and was a frequent performer at the National Children's Theater in Johannesburg, South Africa where she was cast in Tales of Beatrix Potter (2000),  Beauty and the Beast (1999), and The Pied Piper (1998). She also earned roles with  Opera Carolina in the children's chorus in Britten's War Requiem, Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier (2002) and then again in their production of Bizet's Carmen (2003).
